Previously owned by Peter Green, it was used through his time with Fleetwood Mac and alter sold to Gary Moore, who used it for three decades with Thin Lizzy and as a solo artist. Now owned by Kirk Hammett, Greeny has passed through the hands of three legendary guitarists.
The Epiphone Kirk Hammett Greeny 1959 Les Paul Standard is a collaboration between Epiphone and the Gibson Custom Shop. It's built from a maple top with a AAA flame maple veneer on a mahogany solidbody — rounded-off by a one-piece mahogany neck hosting an Indian laurel fingerboard. The Gibson USA Greenybucker pickups installed are powerful, with the neck pickup reverse mounted and complete with a reverse polarity magnet, a Switchcraft pickup selector and CTS potentiometers as well as Mallory capacitors. The Grover Rotomatic tuners and open book headstock complete the look.
